Kayak Beginner skills Class this April 19th, April 26th, May 2th and May 9th! Sign up today to reserve your spot in our kayak class!!
Below are details about the kayak class:
The kayak beginner class will include 2 pool session and 2 river sessions with ACA Certified Instructor’s:
April 19th (Sunday): 4-7pm
Indoor Pool Session @ Cheyenne Mountain High School Aquatic Center
️We will go over paddle strokes, general safety, gear education and roll practice with instructors.
Bring your kayak, paddle, helmet, PFD, sprayskirt and be ready to LEARN!
April 26th (Sunday): 4-7pm
Indoor Pool Session @ Cheyenne Mountain High School Aquatic Center

May 2nd (Saturday): 8AM
First session on Class I to II whitewater on the Arkansas River near Canon City. Meet up time 800am to set up car pool at King Soopers off of HWY 115.
️ We will be learning down river techniques, reading water, ferrying, Eddies, rolls if desired, etc
May 9th (Saturday): 8AM
Second session on Class I to II whitewater on the Arkansas River near Canon City. Meet up time 800am to set up car pool at King Soopers off of HWY 115.
Refinement of river day 1 techniques with more progression.
Cost of beginner class is $125 per person.
Checks made out to PPWC, you can bring your check to Sunday pool session and leave with Craig, Kurt, Aimee or Chris. Plus, you will need to be an active PPWC club member as well, sign-up is online here: Join the Club
Early registration (now) is preferred so we can know how many support boaters to join us so sign up now and message Craig if you have any questions.
Participants should have their own gear for the class but if anyone is in need of a specific item then please reach out to us and we will try and accommodate what you need for the class. Items needed:
